Overview

Akritas accepts requests from people and monitoring systems, retrieves local context, calls explicitly authorized read-only MCP tools, and prepares verifiable file changes.

Akritas is developed in the public GitHub repository. See Installation to clone and build the source, or browse the available releases.

It is not an autonomous production agent. The model cannot open arbitrary host files, connect directly to production, execute shell commands, or write workspace files. Akritas supplies selected context and tool schemas, then verifies every action on the host side.

Current capabilities include an OpenAI-compatible model backend, native and OpenAI-compatible HTTP APIs, provider-neutral alert ingestion for Alertmanager, Uptime Kuma, Pingdom, and canonical clients, durable incident correlation, Telegram/Mattermost chat adapters, BM25 retrieval, MCP stdio integration, a workspace catalog, structured exact replacements, temporary validation workspaces, host-generated diffs, one-time approvals, and durable Runs.

Commits, pushes, merge requests, per-user authorization, multi-node operation, and write-capable MCP workflows are outside the current scope.
