Context and Retrieval

Akritas imports UTF-8 documents into a checksummed corpus, chunks them into a binary BM25 index, and exposes the fixed index as local.rag.search.

When RAG is enabled, the host searches the latest user message before investigation planning. The model does not choose a filesystem path. Empty retrieval is passed explicitly so the answer can separate general advice from missing local evidence.

Runbooks are written for humans first. Their text guides the model in choosing steps and arguments from the real authorized tool catalog, but it does not add capabilities. For example, prose that says to connect over SSH or restart PostgreSQL does not create an SSH or restart tool.

Index contents remain untrusted data and can contain prompt injection. Host-side authorization, argument validation, and Run budgets remain in force regardless of retrieved text.
